Bio

Mr. Lester holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana Tech University, located in Ruston, Louisiana, where his major was Management Information System in the College of Business.  Then Mr. Lester obtained a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Mr. Lester's final degree was a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in Houston, Texas.  Mr. Lester also worked full- or part-time in his field of study during all of his college education.

Mr. Lester worked in the Information Technology (IT) field for ten years following graduation from Louisiana Tech, progressing from Computer Technician up to Director of Technology.  He holds several computer and networking certifications and has worked for IBM, UPS, Computer Sciences Corporation, LSU Medical Center, and a few other large manufacturing companies, schools and hospitals.  He has taught many continuing education courses in the IT field, as well as, Management 102 at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana.  While in law school, Mr. Lester served as Online Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law and President of the Solo and Small Firm Association (student group) while attending school part-time and working full-time. Also, while attending law school, Mr. Lester won the "Jane Ray Writing Award for Outstanding Comment" for his article entitled "Globalized Automatic Choice of Forum: Where Do Internet Consumers Sue? Proposed Article 7 of the Hague Convention on International Jurisdiction and Foreign Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters and its Possible Effects on e-Commerce" published in the New England Journal of International & Comparative Law.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Lester worked for a large insurance firm in East Texas providing corporate guidance, settling lawsuits, and defending insureds in the courtroom. He then changed focus to oil and gas, along with real estate. Working as a landman to get familiar with oil & gas real estate title, he quickly developed his skills and went on to work for a large independent East Texas oil and gas exploration and production company as Assistant General Counsel.  Following that, he became general counsel and vice-president of a large East Texas oil & gas land services firm that provided landmen to the industry for title research, due diligence, and leasing.

Mr. Lester has created and taught numerous AAPL accredited courses for the energy industry and has had several articles published in both the computer field and law field in peer-reviewed journals.  His latest work is a chapter forthcoming from the National Association of Division Order Analysts (NADOA) Handbook entitled "Texas Oil and Gas Law."  In September 2012, Mr. Lester gave a lecture to the "Landman's Big Adventure" Conference in Graham, Texas, where he reviewed the latest case law and regulatory developments in Texas Oil and Gas law.

In addition to the being a fellow of The College of the State Bar of Texas (a privilege for those Texas lawyers who attend at least double the required mandatory continuing legal education, he is also admitted to practice before the United State District Court for the Eastern District of Texas (Federal Court).  In addition, Mr. Lester is also licensed in state courts in Texas, Arkansas & Oklahoma.  Mr. Lester is or has been a member of the Harrison County (Texas) Bar Association, Natural Resources Law Section (Arkansas Bar), Energy and Natural Resources Section (Oklahoma Bar), Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section (Texas Bar), and the Oil, Gas and Mineral Section (Texas Bar).

Mr. Lester brings his unique high-tech skills into his practice to aid his clients.  His extensive use of the Internet as a tool helps to create efficiencies for quick production of documents, contracts, and instruments.  In 2015, Mr. Lester took over the practice of Sam R. Moseley who retired after nearly 50 years of practicing law.  At that time, the name of his firm changed from The Lester Firm to Moseley & Lester.

Mr. Lester resides in Marshall, Texas, and has 5 children: Zachary, age 18; Zeke & Zane, age 13 (Twins); and Zander & Amelia, age 11 (Twins) as of 2023.
